Minutes of Unit 145 Board Meeting

May 13, 2009

Present:     Judy Biegner, Lois DeBlois, Bill Shockley, Bob Erwin, Sue Erwin, Brenda Iemma, Chris DelSesto, Danuta Lamparski

Excused:    Joe Brouillard, Nancy O’Donnell, Bill Lang, Lou DiOrio, Nancy Rosenbaum

Absent:     David Prentiss

Vice President Lois DeBlois called the meeting to order at 5:50PM

Secretary’s Report

Sue Erwin’s report of the April board meeting was reviewed and accepted by the BOD.

Treasurer’s Report

Brenda Iemma presented the treasurer’s report, and the report was accepted.

New Board Member

Kathy Thornton was presented to the BOD as a prospective new member. The Board unanimously voted to have Kathy join the Board. Welcome, Kathy!

Tournament Manager’s Report

March 2009 Sectional

Joe Brouillard was unable to attend this meeting; however, he did pass along some information. The Unit took a small loss on the March Sectional due to having been assigned a third (and unnecessary) director. We will have only two directors at the June Sectional.

New Business

Ocean State Duplicate Bridge Club Visit

The visit to the new Ocean State Bridge Club in Tiverton will be postponed until a later date.

Nominating Committee

• A nominating committee, comprised of Judy Biegner, Brenda Iemma, and Sue Erwin, was appointed by Lois. Primary position to be filled is Unit President. They will report back to the BOD.

Necessary Government Filings

Sue questioned whether the following filings had been or are about to be made, if necessary:

• IRS Annual Report
• State of Rhode Island Registered Agent
• Annual Report for Non-Profits for the State of Rhode Island

Sue will verify the status of these documents and required filings with Joe.
